I have imagined this room
filled with all my children.
I have been yearning so long –
now the time is coming.
The room is ready, the table set.

“You are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.” – Ephesians 2:22
Imagine a home.
A home is built in stages. First it is a dream, then it is a frame. Structure is added gradually and soon there are rooms with walls and a roof. Then it is a house. People come to find their place in the house and it becomes, through the love of those who share life there, a home.
We can build structures, we can maintain spaces and keep them clean, we can make over rooms. But it is only when life is shared among people that we have a home.
First United Methodist Church is such a home. It is where people of all ages and backgrounds share life together in the name of Jesus.
Imagine a Life.
Now imagine those who God will invite home; those who long to be close to him, no matter how far they’ve come. Others, who will share life with us in the household of God. Our shared life will change, but it will grow too, as the whole body builds itself up in love.
The room is ready…
