All People Matter to God
We believe that people matter to God, and therefore people matter to us. Our faith community offers Christs love and grace to all we meet. We value each person as he or she is, and we also value the unique gifts and diversity that each person brings to our church. And as Christ sought to reach out to those with the greatest needs, we share a particular concern for the poor and disenfranchised in our community and world.
Gods Grace is Available to All
We believe in God’s grace as the foundation for our churchs activities and ministries, and that this grace is available to all people. This unmerited grace comes to us as we are, moves us into a loving relationship with God, and transforms us into fully-committed disciples of Christ. All that we do, even the church itself, is but a response to the initiating grace of God, found uniquely in Jesus.
New Life is Possible
We believe that new life is possible in Jesus Christ, and so we will do whatever it takes to offer this new life to people in our community and in the world. Forgiveness, change and transformation, a new start, a second chance these are not just words, but a reality in community of faith.
The Centrality of Scripture
We believe in the centrality of the Bible in our preaching, teaching and life together. The scriptures provide the authoritative source for our theological understandings, doctrine, and ministry, and our community is shaped by the Word of God found within its pages.
Loving, Supporting Community
As our unique calling is to be the body of Christ to each other and those around us, we will endeavor to build a community of love in which each person feels accepted, welcome and affirmed. Further we are committed to supporting individuals and families in their day to day living by ministering to their needs through appropriate worship, education, and fellowship opportunities, as well as other creative programs.
Inspiring Praise and Worship
We believe that one of the most important functions of the church is to provide opportunities for the corporate praise and worship of God. We will offer worship services that are inspiring, meaningful and relevant for both the churched and unchurched, and we will strive in our worship to empower participants for faithful living and ministry.
We are the Body of Christ
We believe that the church is a training ground for mission and ministry, and that the calling of every Christian is to be in ministry, continuing the work Christ began. Therefore, we are the continuing presence of Christs body in our community. The primary responsibility of our pastor and other church leadership is to equip Gods people for the work of service (Ephesians 4:12). Therefore our church will provide the training and resources to transform its membership into dedicated servants, willing to engage in ministry both within, but particularly outside of the church, through the discovery and exercise of each persons unique spiritual gifts.
Servant Leadership
We believe that some are called to ministries of leadership in the church and others to leadership in the community. We value and will cultivate as leaders those women, men and youth who have a servant attitude, and who seek to model Christ in word and action
